Great Vacations, Close To Home

There is a great deal that is unique to Manitoulin Island; its celebrated cultural diversity, its vibrant arts scene, its natural beauty and the fact that this northern extension of the Niagara Escarpment is the largest island in fresh water in the world. Getting to Manitoulin Island is also a unique experience, whether by land, by water or by air. The magnificent ferry M.S. Chi-Cheemaun, with a car carrying capacity of 120 and a passenger capacity of over 700, is in a class by herself on the Great Lakes. Operated by the Owen Sound Transportation Company (OSTC), the Chi-Cheemaun experience from Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula to South Baymouth on Manitoulin is a destination in itself.

The secret is out

and this is what people are saying…

Cup and Saucer Trail - Breathtaking...amazing...perfect...no words to describe it. You have to see it to believe it. I've gone many, many times, and you'll never stop being amazed or seeing something new.

Great Spirit Circle Trail - Great staff, loved the medicine walk, teachings & homemade treats after too. Will go back to do more hiking tours next time.

Crozon

Bridal Veil Falls - where you could actually go behind the falls and have someone take your picture. The stream is a babbling brook fed by the cold waters of Kagawong through a winding valley that has a small hydro plant along the path. Lots of greenery and natural fauna along the path.

Misery Bay Provincial Park - Misery Bay offers great trails. Hike the trail that takes you to the water which offers spectacular views, a great place to take a dip and plenty of unique rocks and fossils. We have had young kids with us on this hike and they had a blast.
